In the last year we have rented more Sony XDCAM cameras, as this format is becoming more and more popular among professional filmmakers and TV crews, using the cameras both for news gathering, documentary films and corporate videos. The Highlight Films crews operate several XDCAM camera sets, including Sony EX-1, Sony EX-3, XDCAM 335 and XDCAM 350 cameras, all recording in either high definition or DVCAM quality. Our cameras are available for rent with or without camera crews, all over Israel, the West Bank and Gaza. All post production services, including tape and disk dubs, conversion to other formats, FTP upload and satelite uplink, are available through our Tel Aviv and Ramalla offices. The latest addition to the Highlight Films stock footage archive includes HD shots of the Golan Heights, The Upper Galilee mountains and several Kibbutzim in the area, including Gadot, Gonen and other locations in the Golan and Northern Israel. Footage was taken with our High Definition Sony F900R camera, in a 25P picture format. It is now catalogued in our archive and available for licensing to interested producers and buyers. The Highlight Films archive team has filmed a new series of HD (high definition) traveling shots of the northern Dead Sea, the Judea Desert, Jerusalem and the Tel Aviv urban landscape. Although this summer has been the busiest summer season we have experienced in the last years, we continue to provide all production services for film and video productions, including news reports, documentary films, corporate and commercial shoots and music videos - in both Israel, the Palestinian West Bank, Gaza and Jordan. August is usually a slow month in film and TV prodcution, however throughout this month of August we are producing a week-long shoot of an American reality show, news reports for Asian and European webcasters, two long (20+ min) reports for an American network and several other smaller projects. Two recent press reports by the LondonTimes and Haaretz indicate that tension is rising in the Israeli-Lebanese border, which had been fairly quiet since the second Lebanon war (2006).
The Highlight Films production teams continue to follow the reports on the situation on Israel’s northern front. We provide all necessary camera crews and all production services for reporters, journalists and producers who would like to cover the area and the potential for another escalation.
Our production crews have been recently testing options for low-altitude aerial filming of various locations in Israel. We have used helicopters for aerial filming, but as helicopter shoots are both expensive and are often resricted as far as the lowest altitude permitted, we have been checking other options which may provide smooth movements, filming at various heights and easy approach to locations throughout Israel. By August 18 we will upload several clips to the Highlight Films archive section, and we will be glad to get feedback from viewers. The clips will also be uploaded to YouTube as well.
